Students challenge themselves in UK’s most ethnically diverse trail running event
Students from the ASRA run club recently took part in the Black to the Trails Race, the UK’s most ethnically diverse trail running event.
In preparation for the event, which took place on Sunday 10th May on the National Trust's Dunstable Downs and Whipsnade Estate, 12 students successfully completed a six-week training programme with ASRA. Before race day, each was provided with limited-edition ASRA x On kit including a windbreaker, top, bottoms and trainers.
On the day, 10 students completed their very first 5K race in under 40 minutes — an incredible achievement. A special mention goes to Elaina R and Safia B, who both completed the race in under 30 minutes. The remaining two students completed their first ever 1K race in under 8 minutes.
The Black to the Trails event, which is described as 'A Carnival of Trail Running', also featured kite flying, face painting, great food and plenty of memorable moments. All students received medals and goodie bags to celebrate their achievements.
