Student's Work Exhibited by Royal Academy

Leterece's Prints of Africa selected from over 2,000 entries

Leterece’s self-portrait collage and screen print (right) was inspired by Faith Ringgold’s 1967 piece Soul Sister. She writes: ‘Ringgold was influenced by African art and mask life works, which formed my idea of collaging African prints to reflect the beauty and tonal ranges of black skin.’
Having her work selected is a fantastic achievement for Leterece; the exhibition is viewed as the online equivalent of the oldest and largest open entry art show in the world, the Royal Academy of Arts' Summer Exhibition (8th June – 16th August 2015), with which it coincides.
