School Closed for Eid - Click for Details
Floating Inset day will be on 19th/20th March, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr
Please see below message from Mrs Hayden:
"Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to remind you about the upcoming floating INSET day, which will coincide with Eid. On this day, the school will be closed to students.
We have introduced this as a pilot initiative for this academic year. In previous years, we have experienced significantly lower attendance on this day due to Eid celebrations. As a result, it has often been difficult to run a full and productive programme of learning for the students who attend, while also managing staffing across the school.
By designating this day as a floating INSET day, we aim to ensure that students do not miss important learning while also allowing staff to use the time productively for professional development and school improvement activities.
As the exact date of Eid is determined by the lunar calendar, it may fall on either Thursday 19th March or Friday 20th March. The confirmed date is usually announced from Saudi Arabia the evening before, after 4:00pm. As soon as the date is confirmed, we will communicate with families to confirm which day will be the floating INSET day when the school will be closed to students.
To ensure that students still have the opportunity to take part in a fundraising event this term, our Comic Relief Dress-Up Day will take place on the alternative day (the day that is not the floating INSET day). Students will therefore still be able to participate in the event and support this important cause.
As this is a pilot, we will be seeking feedback from all stakeholders — including parents, students and staff — after the day has taken place. This feedback will help inform our decision-making as we finalise the school calendar for the next academic year.
Thank you for your continued support. Yours sincerely,
Mrs M Hayden
