Norbury High School for Girls

Choirs Win Festival Music Awards

Celeste and the Show Choir took first prize in their respective categories

On Saturday 28th February, our school choirs competed in the Coulsdon and Purley Festival, a long-established local music and arts festival that celebrates performers of all ages and provides a platform for emerging talent.

Our Show Choir came first with honours in the 12-18 choirs category while Celeste came first with honours in the vocal ensemble category. To cap off an excellent evening for Norbury High School for Girls, Celeste were awarded The Eric Thiman Cup for best youth vocal ensemble.

Celeste collected the Eric Thiman trophy at Coulsdon and Purley Festival's celebration concert and prize-giving event at Wilson’s School on Saturday 25th April. They were joined by Arian Edwards, a Norbury High alumnus, who was awarded the Marion Lea Cup for British song, 15–18 years.

These fantastic achievements are a testament to the talent and dedication of our students, past and present, and the unceasing support and hard work of Ms Stevens, our choir leader.
