Student Wins Shakespeare's Globe Art Competition

Year 8 student's winning entry will be displayed to over 30,000 students
Year 8 student Hadeeqa Islam has won a prestigious national art competition organised by Shakespeare's Globe.
The brief was to design graffiti for the 2026 Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production of Romeo and Juliet based around one or two words from the play.
Hadeeqa’s electric design (below) was selected by Natalie Pryce, the production’s Olivier Award-winning designer, to form part of the set. It is now expected to be viewed by over 30,000 theatregoers.
Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank: Romeo and Juliet is a fast-paced, 90-minute, contemporary staging created especially for young people. It will be performed at Shakespeare's Globe between 5th March and 12th April 2026 with dedicated school performances taking place from 26th February to 25th March 2026.
