Norbury High School for Girls

Curriculum

The aim of the curriculum at Norbury High is to develop students who are confident, motivated and resilient independent learners. We prepare students for the future by teaching them the value of knowledge and push every student to fulfil their academic potential.

We want our students to be creative and enterprising so they are equipped to deal with a rapidly changing world. We want them to embrace their places in local and global communities; to have strong communication and leadership skills; to be self-confident; and to lead healthy lives.

To achieve this, we focus on attitude, application of skills and attainment of knowledge.

Key Stage 3 (KS3) students can expect to study a wide selection of differing subjects, exposing them to a broad base of knowledge.

Key Stage 4 (KS4) students can choose from a range of GCSE and vocational subjects. They are encouraged to maintain a broad and balanced selection to ensure they have a sound base for further study. There is a further opportunity for students to follow a community language and study it to GCSE or A level.

All students follow a detailed education course encompassing personal, social, health, economic and careers aspects which is designed to help them make the most of opportunities in and out of college. We are very fortunate in having an excellent team of outside speakers to enrich this programme.

Key Stage 5 (KS5) students choose from a range of GCE and vocational subjects. Our sixth form is well established and our courses are primarily delivered in a dedicated multi-million pound block. Detailed curriculum information for sixth form subjects is available to view via the link on the right.

Please use the tables below to view the curriculum broken down by year group and the links on the right of the page to view the curriculum by subject and key stage.
