At Norbury High School for Girls, we understand that our year 11 students are at different stages when it comes to planning their futures. Some already have a clear direction, while others are still exploring their options; many are somewhere in between, possibly having changed their minds along the way. This is a completely normal part of the year 11 journey.

What is our starting point?

• Young people must stay in learning until aged 18
• ‘Learning’ can mean a variety of things
• You have options to choose from
• However, it is a must to get your GCSEs in English language and maths at grade 4 or above

So what are the options?

The main options available to students in Croydon after year 11 are:

• A school sixth form, like Norbury High
• College
• Apprenticeships
• Traineeships (sometimes called other names such as ‘pre-apprenticeships’)
