Music

Instrument and vocal tuition

We are delighted to be able to offer in-school music tuition at discounted prices, making learning an instrument easy and affordable for all students.

Students receive 10 lessons per term (approximately one lesson per week) on a rotating timetable with all lessons taking place during school hours.

Piano and singing lessons

We receive music tuition funding from The Humphrey Richardson Taylor Charitable Trust (HRTCT), a charity focused on providing funding for musical activities in Surrey. The grant from HRTCT funds 50% of the cost of instrumental tuition for students and we then provide a further 25% discount for students in receipt of free school meals (FSM). This discount is applied to individual 20-minute piano or singing lessons.

The application form, including pricing, for piano and singing lessons can be found here or at the bottom of this page.

Guitar and violin lessons

We have teamed up with Croydon Music & Arts (CMA) to provide guitar and violin lessons which are part-subsidised by CMA (including further discounts for students in receipt of free school meals).

In addition, we provide free instrument loans (a £5 refundable deposit applies) for students learning the guitar or violin in school.

Free music enrichment activities

The music department runs a range of free enrichment activities and trips during the school year. Students can find out more about music opportunities by speaking to their music teacher or by viewing the Clubs Timetable
